Dynamic Billboards Help Vic Gov Inform Holidaymakers
As apart of the annual fire season, the Victorian Government (Vic Gov) broadcast live fire danger ratings (FDRs) across QMS’ DOOH network to ensure all holidaymakers remained alert and prepared as they travelled into regional areas during the peak summer months.
Vic Gov utilised three strategically placed digital billboards designed to reach travelers heading to the Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulas.
The campaign used live FDR ratings to trigger relevant corresponding safety messages to help raise awareness of the exact fire rating at that point in time. The campaign also served to inform and educate Melbournians as they travelled into regional areas on how to help minimise danger and prepare them on how to act in an emergency.
Targeted
The Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulas are spectacular this time of year and attract thousands of holidaymakers during Summer. Using the dynamic capability of QMS’ digital billboards, we were able to maximise the reach of those travelling with relevant information to raise awareness of fire danger in holiday areas where tourists may not be as prepared as normal.
Mediacom’s Planning Director, Fiona Williams
Sara Lappage, Chief Marketing Officer at QMS said; “What Vic Gov has done is a clever but simple way to harness the dynamic capability of our digital locations to connect, engage and inform holidaymakers with live fire danger ratings and advice.”
The creative messages were automatically triggered by the regions FDRs were:
Low/moderate to high
Very high to severe and;
Extreme to code red.
