Is The Metaverse The Newest Market For Digital OOH?

22 June 2022

This year’s Mumbrella360 headline session will feature an exclusive discussion on digital out of home (DOOH) in the Metaverse with special guest Phil Hall, joint MD Ocean Outdoor UK and Industry legend Anne Parsons.

The headline session, presented by leading digital out of home company QMS, will see Anne and Phil examine if the metaverse is indeed the newest market for DOOH and the what, why and how brands are entering this unique new market, and where the value resides for advertisers.

As the shift towards VR, AR, and the metaverse accelerates, brands and marketers are facing a slew of online opportunities in the traditionally IRL world of DOOH.

Reimagined beyond the clunky walled gardens of their predecessors, the latest in virtual technology is bringing brand new media opportunities and an entirely new realm of DOOH to life. Virtual experiences and communities are set to evolve as web 3.0 accelerates at warp speed, leaving consumers with a whole new way to interact, play, and shop.

Ocean Outdoor’s Hall will share insights from the business’s extensive explorations into this new virtual world, with campaign learnings and insights from those at the forefront of web 3.0. Together with Anne, the session is set to dive deeper into what the Metaverse means for DOOH, how it is providing another frontier in audience opportunity and how one of the oldest media channels has jumped headfirst into the virtual world.

I’m excited to be a guest of QMS at Mumbrella360 this year and am looking forward to talking about the metaverse and how that fits into digital out of home, or how digital out of home fits into the Metaverse.

Speaking about QMS’ role, Anne Parsons said: “QMS has always been at the forefront of DOOH in Australia. As a digital-by-design business, our ongoing investment in and commitment to sophisticated and relevant data, research and technology capabilities, ensures we continue to deliver the Difference in Digital OOH.

“Our ongoing partnership with Mumbrella360 provides the perfect platform from which to push the boundaries of conventional thinking in relation to DOOH, and our session this year is no exception. Our aim with Phil is to provide attendees with insightful, thought-provoking and I predict, an entertaining discussion on the possibilities for brands in this new virtual world of the Metaverse.”

QMS’ headline Metaverse session will feature at 2pm on the first day, Wednesday 20th July of Mumbrella360. Click here to purchase your tickets.
